Gunston Willows

The willow oaks of Gunston Hall frame the legacy of George Mason, a thoughtful revolutionary who helped inspire the Declaration of Independence and the Bill of Rights. The subtle, clean profile of this coffee perfectly complements that Fairfax County estate, and contains a tucked-away brightness reminiscent of Mason’s shining contributions to American liberty.

Mark of Distinction

I stopped at the café for a cup of Gunston Willows in drip, which I drank black. While lighter than I prefer my roasts, I was very impressed by the overall quality of this coffee. While clean and smooth, it had a degree of complexity, depth and body that surprised me, and which I found rather pleasing.

Very Bad!

I’ve tried it on different occasions, but this time I was surprised by the poor quality! Terrible!!! Purchased and ground Moka at the store yesterday. Roasted on 3/12/24. Tried it in Aeropress and Moka. Sour taste and smell of mold and earth. Very pronounced acidity and bad residual flavor. Nothing like and far from a “specialty coffee” classification. I hope it’s just this batch with these characteristics!
