Washington City Paper's Best of DC 2018

Washington City Paper is a weekly newspaper that services the Washington DC area; founded back in 1981 as a way to get local news out to the community. This year marks the 10th year of the Washington City Paper’s Best of DC polls, which the paper started to engage not only the community, but also to document their staff’s picks of the best businesses in DC. We are proud that Commonwealth Joe has won Best Coffee Shop of DC in 2016 and 2017 in the readers poll, and we are so excited to announce that we have been voted Best Coffee Shop of DC 2018!   

We take great pride in making great coffee approachable to our community and believe that our dedication to our local community is part of the reason we’ve been graciously voted the Best Coffee Shop of DC for the third year in a row. We engage the community by offering free coffee cuppings every Sunday morning where attendees have the opportunity to learn all about coffee and identifying aromas, flavor profiles, and other nuances in different roasts. Our shops are full of talented Baristas who take great pride in the drinks they create for each customer. We also offer flights of our Nitro Cold Brew so customers can try every roast. Earlier this year, we competed in the America’s Best Cold Brew competition at Coffee Fest Baltimore against 15 other brewers and came out with the coveted bronze growler taking third place overall. Outside the shop, we offer offices the ability to have an awesome perk to give to their staff and clients by having our Nitro Cold Brew on tap right in their office space. We yearn to continue to grow with our community and to continue to perfect our offerings. We'd like to extend our thanks to everyone who voted for us in this year's Best of DC polls!
